Dwight Yoakam Live in Concert

Date: March 14, 2014 Time: 6:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Event Description Main Street El Dorado is bringing  country music and entertainment superstar  Dwight Yoakam for a show on March 14 at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., and the show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets are reserved-seating, and they go on sale at 10 a.m. on Monday. Prices are $100 for Golden Circle seating, $60 for Orchestra, $50 for Parquet, $40 for Loge, and $30 for Balcony.

Over his 30-year career, Yoakam has grown into a worldwide name in music, selling more than 25 million albums that include a mix of 12 Gold and nine platinum or multi-platinum, including the triple-platinum 1993 album, "This Time.”

Five of Yoakam’s albums have shot to the top of the Billboard Country Albums chart, with another 14 albums reaching the Top 10 mark.

Out of 30 singles that have charted, 22 have landed in the Top 20, including smashes, "Honky Tonk Man,” Please Please Baby,” "Little Ways,” "I Sang Dixie,” "It Only Hurts When I Cry,” "Fast as You,” and "Thousand Miles from Nowhere.”

Yoakam has scored a staggering 21 Grammy nominations, taking home two of the golden gramophones; one for the single "Ain’t That Lonely Yet” in 1994 and the other for the collaboration song "Same Old Train” in 1999.

The singer-songwriter has also won an Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Male Vocalist in 1987, and for his acclaimed album, "3 Pears,” Yoakam was named 2013 Artist of the Year for the Americana Music Awards.

He is reportedly the most frequent musical guest in the history of the Tonight Show on NBC.

Just as Yoakam has successfully carved out a niche in country music with his brand of Honky Tonk, he has done the same in Hollywood.

Over the past 15-years, Yoakam has steadily built a name for himself as one of the top character actors in film.

He is perhaps best known for his role as the abusive alcoholic Doyle Hargraves in the 1996 movie "Sling Blade,” which became a critical and box office smash and won an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.

Yoakam has also starred in "Panic Room,” "The Wedding Crashers,” and more.
