Burgers and Bows
Bow season (and grilling season) is just around the corner - let's get ready! Laura Rogers with the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission will be teaching range safety and proper Olympic-style archery techniques. After archery skills are mastered, we will prepare hamburgers to grill for an early dinner. It is sure to be a day filled with friendly competition, fellowship, and FUN! Each participant will receive a grill to take home!

A Stuff The Bus event, where local residents are asked to load up a school bus with new backpacks, will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at the Walmart on North West Avenue in El Dorado. The Stuff The Bus drive is an effort by United Way of Union County, the Boys & Girls Club, South Arkansas Regional Health Center and the Back 2 School Blast Committee to collect backpacks for distribution at the second annual Back 2 School Blast on August 2. The free backpacks will be handed out at the event, which will also include a resource fair, games and food.

In one swift moment, a flurry of gunfire left three men dead and several others wounded. Showtime Concert Series
The July 26 Showtime Concert Series features Joshua Scott Jones headlining. As one-half of the successful country duo Steel Magnolia, Jones won CMT’s Can You Duet. Jones and his duo partner, Meghan Linsey’s hits have included "Keep on Lovin’ You,””Just By Being You (Halo and Wings” and "Last Night Again.” They were nominated for Best New Vocal Duo or Group at the ACM, CMA and CMT Awards. His debut album is titled, "The Healing,” which will drop in 2014. His lead single, "Honk (If You’re Tonky),” launched worldwide in January and was a fan favorite on radio, including SIRIUS XM’s The Highway. Jones has a full-length record, a new music video and a tour coming in the next few months.
