The Jaycees 20th Annual Easter Egg Hunt is at the South Arkansas Arboretum on Saturday, April 4, at 11:00 a.m. Included will a bouncy house and hot dogs.  The hunt will start at 12 p.m and is free for ages 0-12. More than 5,000 eggs will be hidden with a special egg for each age group. 0-2, 3-5, 6-8, 9-12.

The EPD is now accepting applications for Police Officer. You must be at least 21, have a GED or Diploma and not have been convicted of any felonies or misdemeanors that would reflect bad on the department. No experience necessary. Many benefits to becoming a Police Officer here in El Dorado. Deadline for completed applications is March 20th by 4pm.

You are hereby invited to the grand opening of the new Fourth District office in El Dorado. We will hold a grand opening celebration on Thursday, April 9th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at our location inside the Union County Courthouse at 101 North Washington Street, in the heart of downtown El Dorado. The ribbon cutting will be held on the steps of the North Jefferson Street side of the courthouse, with light food and refreshments served in the lobby.

We hope this grand opening gives us an opportunity to meet and discuss the issues that are important to the Fourth District, as well as highlight the work that our district staff has been doing for constituents.

BancorpSouth & El Dorado Service League present the 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament on April 11-12, 2015 at the El Dorado Golf & Country Club. Entry Fee for the Tournament is $170/player or $340/team and includes: * Saturday Afternoon Event * One Practice round * 2 Days of Tournament Fun * Cart * Breakfast, lunch, & snacks * Refreshing beverages * Excellent Goodie Bags -Additional Fees (Required) * 5 Irons $10/player * Mulligans $10/player -Additional Fees (Optional) * Skins $10/player * Two-Man scramble format: Open to Men and Women. Amateur Status Only. * Deadline for entry is THURSDAY, April 9, 2014. * Tee times will begin at 7:30 a.m. You may get your tee time by calling the pro shop on Friday, April 10th * One practice round per player is available either on Thursday, April 9th or Friday, April 10th for the cost of cart rental only. * The top three teams in each flight will receive prizes. * Entry fee includes entrance to our Saturday afternoon event with heavy hors d?oeuvres (1:00 p.m.) and a Calcutta (2:00 p.m.). * A light breakfast and lunch will be provided to each golfer on both Saturday and Sunday.

El Dorado Kiwanis Club Child Safety Fair will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The Safety Fair will include child safety seat installation and inspection, as well as other demonstrations related to child safety. This event is expected to feature participation from the El Dorado Fire Department, El Dorado Police Department, Hannah Pregnancy Resource Center, and others. The event sponsored by the El Dorado Kiwanis Club will be coordinated with the Kiwanis International "Kiwanis ONE Day" - a day of community service by Kiwanis International affiliates around the country on April 11.

This fun-filled workshop is based on the Disney hit film "Frozen." Students will make snowflakes and an Else wand and crown using a variety of materials and embellishments. This course is open to anyone that wishes to attend. However, if your child is under age 8, we ask that you accompany them for this workshop. Please complete the registration form for each person that will attend. **OLAF crafts are available upon request. The El Dorado Chamber of Commerce is hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new office of GenWealth Financial in El Dorado under financial advisors Heather Crake, John Shrewsbury and Janet Walker and office administrator Chanel Hicks at 301 N. Washington. Suite 100 on Wednesday, April 15, at 9:00 a.m. The public is invited to attend.

 

"Festival of Quilts" bi-annual Quilt Show. We invite you, your friends & family to join us for the most exciting two days of fabulous quilts. Learn how to bind a quilt, make an easy 4 patch, and lots of other tricks of the trade from local veteran quilters.

Clean Harbors is hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Collection event on April 18, 2015 from 8:00AM - 12:00PM. We will be giving away a reusable shopping bag and a tree in recognition of Earth Day.

Join Medical Center of South Arkansas to celebrate the new location and renovation of their Wound Center, Hyperbaric Medicine Center and Outpatient Therapy Services at Grove Medical Building Complex,
620 West Grove Street, Third Floor on Thursday, April 23, at 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with a ribbon cutting, reception and tour. 


 

An all-Mozart concert featuring Mozart's famous "Requiem". The SouthArk Choral Society will be accompanied by New York City organist Daniel Beckwith and directed by SouthArk professor Victoria Harden. Soloists will include mezzo soprano Susan Schafer, singer for many years at the New York City Opera; Dalene Davidson, of New Orleans opera fame and currently Hot Springs' The Muse Organization executive director; and Shelton Harden, baritone with a long list of New York City credits and frequently heard in our area.

The Pottery House will celebrate their grand opening with a  Chamber of Commerce Ribbon Cutting on Friday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m. located at 112 W. Main Street. 

Light refreshments will be served.

Free- Open to the public yearly. Relay for Life will have teams set up and lots of food and games. Come on out whether you are on a team or not. Lots of fun and all for a good cause. Opening ceremony is at 6:00 pm, Luminaria service is at 9:00 pm and closing ceremony is at 1:30 am with lots of fun in between.

4 Man Scramble To raise awareness about Operation Christmas Child, a shoe box project of Samaritan's Purse. All Proceeds benefit Shipping Costs for Operation Christmas Child.

This event is in conjunction with the Great American Cleanup in Arkansas, sponsored by Keep Arkansas Beautiful. Teams or a team representative will meet at Old City Park (College Ave.) between 8 - 8:30 a.m. to pick up supplies - trash bags, gloves, safety vests. Teams are invited back to the park after they have cleaned their designated areas. Keep El Dorado Beautiful will serve hot dogs and drinks, present team awards and give away several door prizes at 11:30 a.m. Registration for this event must be received no later than Thursday, April 16.
