Crime Stoppers Fish Fry
El Dorado Crime Stoppers will hold its annual Fish Fry Fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, May 1 at Memorial Stadium in the Boys & Girls Club parking lot. Plates are $10 each and will include fish, fries, slaw, hot water cornbread and a pickle. Advance orders will be accepted through Friday, April 24. Call 870-866-8982 for more information. El Dorado Crime Stoppers raises funds to offer rewards for information leading to the arrest or indictment of the person(s) responsible for a crime. Since 2008, El Dorado Crime Stoppers has paid out more than $15,000 in rewards for tips that led to more than 50 arrests for crimes including murder, robbery, theft, forgery, and battery.

Southern Food & Wine Festival
Sponsored by Presqu'ile Winery and Moon Distributors, the biennial Southern Food & Wine Festival returns to El Dorado! Friday night will consist of the Presqu'ile Vintner Event with heavy hors d'oeuvres and feature Presqu'ile wines. Saturday afternoon will feature the third wine pour event with local food vendors and wines from Moon Distributors.

Mayhaw Festival
EL DORADO, The South Arkansas Historical Foundation is pleased to announce that the 23rd annual Mayhaw Festival will be held on Saturday May 2, 2015 in El Dorado. The street festival will occur on the grounds of the Newton House Museum and along Jackson Street between Faulkner and Sheppard Streets on Saturday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The festival will include children?s activities, rock climbing, 5K/10K Run, Mayhaw biscuit breakfast, museum tours, live music, craft vendors, lawn & garden vendors, Mayhaw jelly, antique car and motorcycle show, and an art contest. The Union County Master Gardeners will be holding their annual plant sale fundraiser on the parking lot of the Dickerson Law Firm, 407 N. Jackson, El Dorado, AR on Saturday morning, May 2nd. Plants of all kinds mostly divided from Master Gardeners local gardens will be for sell. Master Gardeners will be on hand to help with selections and to answer garden questions.

Life Touch Hospice Spring Celebration
With Mother's Day and Father's Day approaching, Life Touch Hospice will be planting flowers in the middle garden of the John R. Williamson Hospice House. This garden is a special place families can enjoy while their loved one is being cared for in the house. As an opportunity to honor and remember someone special, you may purchase a flower from a local nursery to be planted by our staff on May 8th. Please bring flowers to the John R. Williamson Hospice House beginning May 6th You are also welcome to come plant your own flower on May 8, 2015 from 9:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Additionally, Money may also be sent to be used toward purchasing flowers which our staff can pick up for you. We will post an in memory of... list with names of those for whom flowers have been purchased. The flowers we are hoping to plant are Salvia, Caladium, Impatients, Marigolds, Vinca, begonias, Hosta, Wave petunias, Geraniums, Lady Bank Roses, and Knock-out Roses.

4th Annual Southern Showcase Festival City Shootout 2015
This is a 5 on 5 basketball tournament for grades 4U thru Senior grades, boys and girls. This is one of Arkansas's best travel and AAU teams tournament in Arkansas. We do have the best facilities in the state for the 4th Annual Southern Showcase Festival City Shootout basketball tournament. Coaches will be bringing teams from Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, and all over Arkansas to make this an unforgettable tournament. We look forward this year's tournament which will be held the weekend after Memorial Day. This tournament promises to be very competitive! Added attractions for this year will include larger trophies, Championship T-Shirts, second and third place medals/ribbons for the teams.. Register early and receive discounts.
