Tour Kickoff Concert for the Graduation Tour! Rock violinist Joseph Shackelford, of El Dorado, just announced that he will be going on tour this summer.  Since early 2015 Joseph has quickly gained distinction as a talented and powerful musician with captivating improvisational skills that always entertain. He was kept busy with performances at MusicFest 28, the Arkansas Entertainer's Hall of Fame, and other shows throughout the year.  Joseph's recently released music video and website have both debuted to considerable success. A dance, dinner, and an auction will be among the festivities as the South Arkansas Community College Foundation hosts An Evening with the Stars, honoring a special Friend of the College and Distinguished Alumni. This class provides an overview of the principle elements of social and cross cultural skills. Objectives include, explain the principal elements of social and cross-cultural skills and how they are applied to the workplace, identify appropriate social skills and physical appearance in the workplace, and describe elements of working successfully with individuals from different cultural backgrounds.

Course Objectives: -Overview of the Excel interface and description of the key functions. -Creating, saving and opening existing workbooks. -Basic data entry, formulas, and formatting. -Moving data and modifying worksheets. -Chart types and creating charts from data. -Importing objects and protecting data.

This FREE training event is being offered to increase the number of respite care providers in our community. Respite is simply a away of giving a temporary or short-term break to a caregiver. Family members, friends, neighbors, church members and anyone else who might participate in providing care to someone they love are welcome to attend!

Do you provide care for a family member or patient? Do you know someone who is a caregiver, but needs education? Do you need CE Credits? Do you need a BREAK? This FREE all-day training event is for you! The staff of the Schmieding Home Caregiver Training Center is providing Volunteer Respite Training to help increase the number of available Respite Care Providers in our area. Respite care is simply giving a temporary break to primary caregivers without compromising the safety and dignity of the one receiving care. As a bonus for healthcare professionals, this training has been approved for 7.5 CE credits!

This is a Free event open to the community. Opening Ceremony begins 6:30 and Luminaria is at 9:00. Several teams will have plenty of food, games and fun. Someone will be walking the track in honor or in memory of a loved one with Cancer. Come join us and support the American Cancer Society.

The event will include a Poker Run, free Kid Zone, Antique Car Show, Bike Show, lots of craft & food vendors, SCA State Steak Cook-off, many area bands, Headliner - Brent James & the Vintage Youth, and several local community agencies.

Grilled hamburgers & hotdog plates to raise funds to help local veterans. Plates will be $7.00. Customers can call in and pick-up an order. Legionnaires will deliver on multiple orders.
