Clean Harbors is offering a FREE collection of household hazardous waste for El Dorado and Union County residents. Open the third Saturday of every month April through September from 8 a.m. to noon. Most items are accepted, including used oil and filters, batteries, paints, antifreeze, degreasers, dry cleaning fluids, herbicides, pesticides, poisons, pool chemicals, fluorescent bulbs, over-the-counter medicines, butane and propane cylinders, drain cleaners, aerosol cans, car batteries, and more. Bring items in a sturdy disposable container. Items NOT accepted include: smoke detectors, fire arms, explosives, compressed gases, radioactive waste, business generated waste, biomedical waste, tires, appliances, e-waste and trash.
