Every Thursday night, the Griffin restaurant presents FREE live music across the genres of R&B, Acoustic, rock, bluegrass and country. The Griffin Restaurant will make you MAD happy with crazy good farm-to-table food and service as well as free live entertainment every Thursday on our cabaret stage.

Senior Circle, a Medical Center of South Arkansas program, is now accepting new members. Senior Circle is a program for individuals age 50 or better who are interested in pursuing an active lifestyle, learning about health and wellness and meeting others. Rodney Block/Trumpeter is a Dumas, Arkansas native and has been thriving in the regional music scene for the past seven years. He released his sixth studio album, TRUMPHOUSE-JAZZY*FUTURE HOUSE*MUSIC, in September 2017, smooth jazz ep EYES HAVEN’T SEEN/EARS HAVEN’T HEARD in 2016, and the acclaimed album HEY YOU! in 2015. In 2014, the band was honored with the Aurora Award and Telly Award, for its concert feature on AETN television network. Currently, fans can listen to the Rodney Block jazz station on Pandora Radio.

Comprised of vocalists Trey and Jennifer, SmithField took the stage by storm with their memorable music and stunning harmonies. Having grown up together, their on-stage chemistry is undeniably genuine and natural.After only one year in Nashville, SmithField had already landed opening gigs for established artists including Eric Paslay, Scotty McCreery, Jana Kramer, Dustin Lynch, Brothers Osborne and Craig Campbell.

Barton Public Library presents classical guitarist Peter Fletcher. He will be playing at SouthArk College Library auditorium February 19th from 7:00 pm-8:30 pm.

This dance will let you fit in and dance just about anywhere country music is played. Instructor Wayne Guinn will guide you until you feel comfortable on the dance floor. Singles and couples are welcome.

The class is a four night class on Monday nights starting on Monday Feb.19th going thru Monday March 12th.

Auditions will be held in the El Dorado High School Performing Arts Auditorium February 20th and 22nd at 7 p.m. and are open to the public. Those interested in auditioning are asked to prepare a 30 selection from the songs “Breaking Free” or “Bop to the Top” from the show. Roles available for those 12 years old to 80 years old. Affectionately named “The Emotionalz”, the duo and their band combine heavy rock instrumentation with soulful harmonies to create music that transcends all ages. Their sophomore project, Can’t Chase Girls and Your Money Too, combines a blend of acid rock, funk, and country. Named the Arkansas Times’ 2017 Musicians Showcase winners, the 2018 Kit-Kat Jingle winners, and ML Magazine’s Uprising Idol, the band has performed from Afropunk’s Battle of the Bands in Brooklyn, NY to SXSW, to Los Angeles California.

Hayden Shamel, Democratic candidate for Arkansas Congressional District 4, will speak at the regular monthly meeting of the El Dorado Union County NAACP in the Community Room of Simmons First Bank 2nd floor at 6:30 p.m. Monday February 26th 2018 As the daughter of a cattle rancher, Hayden grew up in Texarkana where she earned her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in English. Her career in secondary and higher education has allowed her to work all over the Fourth District of Arkansas, giving her unique insight into the educational and economic needs of the people of this state. Hayden is taking her fight for Arkansas families to the national stage as a candidate for United States Congress from the Fourth District of Arkansas. Please join us and ask your questions
