Nov 1 Guy Penrod Live!
Grammy & Dove Award-winning recording artist Guy Penrod is coming to El Dorado, AR. The Boomtown Opry and First Baptist Church, El Dorado, AR invites the public to a very special Concert with Guy Penrod on November 1, 2018 at 7pm at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium. Who is Guy Penrod? Well known for his authenticity and engaging personality, Guy Penrod, father of 8 and husband of 1, takes to heart his call to love God and others. Recently a young man in his early 30’s said... “...Guy is someone I can model after. His sage wisdom, down to earth presence, and strong convictions give me someone I can look up to." We are delighted to host Guy Penrod says Jonathan Kelly, Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church El Dorado. Guy Penrod is one of the most popular artists featured on the Gaither Homecoming Video Series. He spent 14 years as the lead singer of the Gaither Vocal Group before launching a successful solo ministry in 2010, with combined career sales now in excess of four million units. His acclaimed release, Hymns (Gaither Music Group/ Servant Records), became the top-selling southern gospel album of 2012, having debuted at #1 on the Nielsen SoundScan Southern Gospel retail chart. His most recent release, Guy Penrod Live (Gaither Music Group/Servant Records) upon it’s release in January 2016, claimed the No. 2 position on the Contemporary Christian Music chart according to Nielsen Soundscan. But more importantly, Guy is a man who lives out his faith in Jesus Christ on stage and off, and caps it with a warm-hearted grin. The Pray About Everything Tour with Guy Penrod is presented by First Baptist Church El Dorado, AR and will be held on November 1, 2018 at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium in El Dorado, AR. The concert starts at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. The evening features the song, Pray About Everything, new renditions of both classic and contemporary songs like “Shout to the Lord,” “Revelation Song,” “Victory in Jesus,” “You Never Let Go,” as well as recognized hymns. Guy is recognized for his unmistakable, rasp-tinged vocals, through which he brings hope and encouragement to all who listen. “I wanted to record an album that, contains familiar songs,” describes Penrod. “I put the songs in keys that most everyone can sing along with, especially the men, and arranged them with a simplicity that allows everybody to easily join in. I have a real heart to see men enter into worship because I believe as they worship, their families will worship also. I am excited to travel across the country (and internationally) and perform these songs as audiences sing along.” Guy Penrod’s music is distributed by Capitol Christian Distribution and is available at retail and digital outlets worldwide including iTunes, Amazon, www.gaither.com and www.guypenrod.com. Don’t miss this special concert with one of the most in-demand touring artists in Christian music, and vocal powerhouse , Guy Penrod. Tickets are $30 Artist Circle, $20 General Admission, and discounts are available for groups of 10 or more and can be purchased by phone at (800)965-9324 or online at www.itickets.com. Nov 1 Thursday Night Live: Big Piph & Tomorrow Maybe
“One of Arkansas’ best bands” and “hip-hop ensemble” are terms often used for the collective known as Big Piph & Tomorrow Maybe. However, although they are both deserving titles, they have proven to be too confining of descriptions. The creativity, work, and showmanship that BPTM put into their jazz, soul, funk, and rock infused hip-hop experiences will soon have them recognized as one of the best bands...period. Although he was already enjoying a successful solo rap career, Epiphany looked to further separate himself from the pack of competitive emcees by joining forces with a stellar live ensemble. Each of the seven members approaches the apex of their field and is a “frontman” in their own right. However, when their paths finally overlapped, the collective of (l-to-r) Paul Campbell (percussion), Dre Franklin (keys), Bijoux Pighee (vocals), band, and in 2012 he did just that. Epiphany “Big Piph” Morrow (MC/lead vocalist), Dee Dee Jones (vocals), “Cool Hand” Lucas Murray (guitar), and Corey Harris (bass) formed something special. Although the band has mostly displayed its energetic, interactive performances at Arkansas’ finest venues including The Rev Room, Sticky Fingerz, South on Main, UofA, Ron Robinson Theatre, and Riverfest; they recently went international completing an early 2015 tour in the Embassy and American Music Abroad and while there, they not only held concerts for the more than receptive audiences, but engaged in cultural exchange with artists, students, and creatives by conducting workshops and speaking engagements. Still, at the heart of it all was providing the people not just a show, but a musical experience to remember... and that’s what Big Piph & Tomorrow Maybe deliver every time.

Nov 8 Thursday Night Live - The Drunken Hearts
From their humble inception as an acoustic trio, The Drunken Hearts have evolved into an electric five-piece that is captivating audiences across the country. In those few years, the Colorado-based group has managed to make a name for itself in a state that is known for cultivating world-class music. The band fearlessly bottles a tempestuous, yet honest brand of Americana music — infusing spirited vocals with electric and acoustic instruments and crafting heartfelt songs that are resonating with crowds everywhere. Originally an outlet for lead singer and acoustic guitarist, Andrew McConathy, he knew in his heart the band must expand musically to satisfy a growing songbook of original material. It was this ideal that inspired a band capable of writing and performing songs that convey whispers of love and loss, while also delivering full-on rock anthems that chase down the American dream. With this evolution, the band is releasing their most acclaimed album to date, The Prize, in March of 2018 — an album that fully realizes the unique yet familiar sound the five musicians evoke when they create and perform together night after night. The ten songs featured on The Prize seamlessly unite their poetic and thoughtful songwriting with impressive musicianship to bring each track alive. From the vulnerable and haunting, “Seasons,” to the rowdy honkytonk-inspired “Broken Things,” The Prize is a powerful statement to where The Drunken Hearts currently are, yet more importantly— where they are going. Building on the release of The Prize, the band is touring the country from coast-to-coast, with stops at famed venues and festivals along the way. With notable performances at Electric Forest (MI), FloydFest (VA), Vertex (CO), Fayetteville Roots Fest (AR), Hangtown Music Festival (CA), Bohemian Nights at New West Fest (CO), Northwest String Summit (OR), and the band’s very own YarmonyGrass (CO), the band is very much at home on the festival circuit. Tyra Sutak of Elevation Outdoors Magazine described her experience as "Magnetic. It’s one of the only words my buddy and I could agree on to describe the feeling of the first time we caught Colorado-based band, The Drunken Hearts, live." Andrew McConathy | Vocals, Acoustic Guitar Jon McCartan | Bass, Vocals Cody Russell | Pedal and Lap Steel, Banjo Kory Montgomery | Electric guitar, Vocals Alex Johnson | Drums

Nov 15 Thursday Night Live: Wood Newton & Rafe Van Hoy
Wood Newton moved from his home state of Arkansas to Nashville in 1976 to get in the music business. Since then, as a songwriter Wood has written some of country music’s biggest hits, among them are; "BOBBIE SUE" for THE OAK RIDGE BOYS, "TWENTY YEARS AGO" for KENNY ROGERS, “WHAT I DIDN’T DO” for STEVE WARINER, and “RIDING WITH PRIVATE MALONE” which he produced for DAVID BALL. All four of these songs have received BMI awards for being played over a million times. Wood produced, and sang harmony with David Ball on “OLD FOLKS AT HOME”, a track on “Beautiful Dreamer, The Songs Of Stephen Foster”. It won a Grammy for Traditional Folk Album of the year 2005. Wood served on the NSAI Board of Directors for many years, and made several trips to Washington DC in support of the songwriting profession. Rafe Van Hoy began his music career as a songwriter, landing his first publishing contract at 17. In the next 7 years he would become one of Nashville's new emerging songwriters with 10 number one songs and as many top 10 singles, along with nearly 200 cuts by other artists. In one three- year period he had between 50 and 60 songs cuts each year. During this early time Rafe also worked as a session musician on many hit records, and then began adding producer to his list of credits, with songwriting always as his first passion. Rafe has been active and successful as both writer and producer over four decades with credits in several categories and genres of music, including a Grammy Nomination, 11 BMI One Million Airplay Awards, 3 BMI Two Million Airplay Awards and beyond, and songs recorded by George Jones and Tammy Wynette (including the classic “Golden Ring”), Oak Ridge Boys, Michael Martin Murphy's “What's Forever For”, John Conlee, Patti Loveless, Brooks and Dunn, Reba McEntire, Leann Rimes, Fleetwood Mac, Diana Ross, Issac Hayes, Paul Carrack, and a long long list of others, including Trick Daddy (“I'm A Thug”). His songs have been on records selling well over 50 million copies. Rafe loves working in all styles of music and continues to stay current creating music in many formats.
