Every Thursday night, the Griffin restaurant presents FREE live music across the genres of R&B, acoustic, rock, bluegrass and country. Check out Thursday Night Live - because "we don't want to change the world, just show it a good time!" This dynamic group of 5 has come together to create on of the best and most versatile cover bands in the south! We have a set list that could please any group or event. We specialize in weddings and private event, but we know how to rock the local pub! The group is made up of Carter Thomas local singer/songwriter with his smooth and soothing voice, he has the power and control to assist you with the slow dance or get you to your feet for more. Wythe Walker is the man to recon with when it comes to the keys! he brings that full band sound with just those 88 keys. He also adds that awesome harmony sound as back up vocalist, and you might also see him grab the 6 string and pick out some measures on that as well! Adam Tompkins adds the beat that holds them together on the skins! His dynamic beats and combinations will make you feel the song all the way through. Who doesn't love to feel that bass drum and hear that ting ting ting of the symbol in just the right way! And who doesn't love a singing drummer! Bill McCumber, mister smooth hands on those 4 strings, no one rocks the bass like Bill. He knows how to keep that thumping of the strings going to keep those feet moving on that dance floor. You can pick his bass lines out of any groove! Bill is also a big help in the back up vocals. Phillip Tompkins takes on the power of the 6 strings. He is a unique and versatile guitar player, he keeps the song going with rhythm then hops in with some kick ass lead! get out the fire extinguishers when he gets started those fingers move so fast all you see is smoke!

Apr 19 Thursday Night Live: Sunny Sweeney
Every Thursday night, the Griffin restaurant presents FREE live music across the genres of R&B, acoustic, rock, bluegrass and country. Check out Thursday Night Live - because "we don't want to change the world, just show it a good time!" Houston-born, Longview-raised Texas native Sunny Sweeney may not have always known she wanted to sing and write country music for a living, but she grew up listening to it with her parents, and, throughout her college years, she began mixing her serious Merle Haggard addiction with a keen awareness of the booming regional Texas music scene. She graduated with a degree in public relations and spent the first few years of early adulthood trying to find her place in the "regular" working world, only to one day chuck caution to the wind, pick up her first guitar and decide — literally as overnight as one can commit to such life-changing personal dares — to try her hand at performing and songwriting. From that fateful moment, it was just a quick hop, skip and 10 years before she found herself in the Top 10 on the national country music charts and nominated for Best New Female Vocalist at the 2013 Academy of Country Music Awards. Beginning this March, Sweeney will be the opening act on Miranda Lambert's "Livin' Like Hippies Tour."
