Aug 11 The Boomtown Opry featuring Buddy Jewell
The Aug. 11th, 2018 edition of the Boomtown Opry will be held at the El Dorado Municipal Auditorium (100 W. 8th St.) in El Dorado, AR at 7pm. The Boomtown Opry is a family friendly event with no alcohol sold during the show. The Boomtown Opry features a house band led by BJ Kyle, who has toured professionally with Colt Ford, Craig Morgan, Tracy Lawrence, Kellie Pickler and others. Local actor/singer Steve Harrell is the MC and local country duo Southern Koast (Keith Owens and Susan Tolin) provide background vocals. Featured performer for this show is Buddy Jewell. Buddy Jewell burst onto the country music scene after winning the inaugural season of the USA Network’s hit television series “Nashville Star.” After Buddy’s win, Columbia Records released his self-titled debut album “Buddy Jewell” which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Top Country Album charts as well as #13 on the Top 100 Pop Album Charts. The album was certified Gold later that same year, selling over ½ million copies. Buddy’s first two singles, “Sweet Southern Comfort” and “Help Pour Out the Rain (Lacey’s Song)” both landed in the top 5 on the singles chart. Jewell has since followed up with 5 more albums, “Times Like These,” “Country Enough” , “I Surrender All”, “Wanted : LIVE “and his newest release, “My Father’s Country.” Aspiring singers may audition for future shows before rehearsals on show day around 3pm. The Boomtown Opry is partnering with the El Dorado Boys & Girls Club. The proceeds will benefit EBGC and allow them to continue serving the youth in our community. In return the EBGC provides volunteers to staff each show. The EBGC has been serving Union County youth since 1939. Follow and like our page at www.facebook.com/boomtownopry for more information on this show and updates and reminders of future shows.

Aug 23 Jonathan Tyler & the Northern Lights
The band was formed in January 2007 in Dallas, Texas by Jonathan Tyler, Brandon Pinckard, along with Oklahoma natives Nick Jay, and Jordan Cain. The band immediately went into the studio with local producer Chris Bell to record their first independent record Hot Trottin'. After playing nearly every venue in Deep Ellum the band began to venture outside of Dallas into Austin, Houston, and other surrounding cities. Emotion Brown joined the band in May 2007. By 2008, the band began garnering regional and national attention by supporting major national acts including Erykah Badu, Leon Russell, Deep Purple, The Black Crowes, Kool & the Gang, Chicago, Heart, Cross Canadian Ragweed, among others. The band was discovered at SXSW 2008 by an A&R representative from Atlantic Records, and was soon signed to F-Stop Music/Atlantic Records. The band was awarded "Best Blues Act" by the 2008 Dallas Observer Music Awards. In 2009, JTNL continued touring extensively across the United States, most notably alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd, Kid Rock, O.A.R., & AC/DC. The band also played the Austin City Limits Music Festival, Forecastle Festival, Summerfest, Wakarusa, and SXSW. In August, JTNL recorded their first album Pardon Me for F-Stop Music/Atlantic Records. Jay Joyce was selected by the band to produce the record from his Nashville studio. The band was awarded "Best Group", "Best Male Vocalist", and "Best Blues Act" by the 2009 Dallas Observer Music Awards. Rave reviews from outlets across the country began pouring in for the band and their live show, including praise from critics in USA Today, American Songwriter, Chicago Sun Times, Orlando Weekly, Austin American Statesman, Arizona Daily Star, Urban Tulsa Weekly, and Nuvo Weekly (Indianapolis) among numerous others. On April 27, 2010, Pardon Me was released nationwide. It was awarded "Reader's Pick Best Local CD Release" in the Dallas Observer, the "fourth best release of 2010" by the Dallas Morning News, and received favorable reviews nationwide. In 2010, JTNL most notably toured alongside ZZ Top, JJ Grey & MOFRO, American Bang, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, and others. They played Bonnaroo Music Festival, Voodoo Fest, Summerfest, BamaJam, and SXSW. Blender Magazine exclusively debuted the video for "Gypsy Woman" November 15, 2010 on Blender.com. The band was named "Top Artist of 2010" by Pegasus News. Jonathan Tyler was named "Best Male Vocalist" by the 2010 Dallas Observer Music Awards. JTNL was named "Pick of the Week" in USA Today on May 5, 2010

Aug 24 Rascal Flatts with Trent Harmon
If any act embodies the place to which country music has evolved in the new century, it is Rascal Flatts. Since their inception a decade ago in 1999, the trio has helped change the face of popular music. Their trademark sound--Gary LeVox's powerfully emotive lead vocals coupled with the soaring harmonies of Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney, set amid world-class arrangements and production, have made the band the standard bearers for cutting-edge country. Drawing on Nashville's best tunesmiths and their own enviable songwriting skills, they have released, in songs like "These Days," "Bless The Broken Road," "What Hurts The Most" and "Take Me There," some of the most important and successful music to come out of Nashville in recent years. Along the way, they have placed 11 #1 singles and 20 Top Tens, seen every one of their studio albums go multi-platinum, have become the most awarded vocal group in country music history with total sales at 20 million. In 2009, Flatts broke Alabama’s streak of ACM Vocal Group of The Year wins when they took home the trophy for the 7th consecutive time.
