Meet the comedians: Paul Varghese is one of the best comedians in the country. Proof? He's opened for legends like Dave Chapelle, Joan Rivers and Russell Peters. Varghese began doing stand-up in 2001, opened for Peters in a short theater tour through Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston and New York in 2005. That led to his headlining a 16-city Gurus of Comedy tour in the spring of 2006. In 2007 he was named "Best Stand-Up Comic in Dallas" by the Dallas Observer and won the 2009 "Funniest Comic in Texas" competition. Varghese was also featured on Showtime's "Russell Peter's Presents", Telemundo 2's "Loco Comedy Jam", Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham" and "Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand-Up Revolution". On June 18, 2012, Varghese was given the opportunity to open for Chappelle at the Dallas House of Blues and the following night in Austin at the Paramount Theatre. On May 31, 2014, Varghese opened for Rivers at IP Casino Resort in Biloxi, Mississippi. This was followed by several more openings for Ms. Rivers in June 2014. Chris Ivey is a standup comedian based in Birmingham, AL that relates with the audience through his life experiences as an everyday insurance agent and a father. Chris’ popular Goulash Comedy showcases brings in local stars all the way to national headliners. You can follow him on Instagram @chrisivey205. Nick Moore is one of the youngest working comics in Little Rock, but his quick success surprises no one. Moore's wit hilariously mixes with his interesting upbringing in central Arkansas, making you laugh at things you normally don't see or hear. Moore was recently selected at this year's Memphis Urban Laughs Comedy Festival.

Sep 27 Thursday Night Live: Barett Baber
NBC's The Voice finalist Barrett Baber gave millions of viewers an unforgettable introduction to a true artist and entertainer. With high-energy vocal performances, Barrett owned the stage from start to finish, and his unique, soulful country sound stood out among the entire show as something truly special. Blake Shelton says, "Barrett sounds like no one else on country radio. He can be a star in Country Music." Also winner of the national CBS Grammy Gig of a Lifetime in 2014, Barrett continues to deliever. Baber's recently released full-length album A Room Full Of Fighters Baber debuted in the top 10 on iTunes Top 100 Album Charts in 2016. An Arkansas native, Barrett's inspiration for singing and creating music started with frequent visits to Memphis, TN only a few miles from his hometown in Marion, Arkansas. On Beale Street and the corners of downtown Memphis, his exposure to street performers and artists steeped in Blues, R&B, Country and Rock would become the influence for his vocal style. Sep 29 Nic Cole Benefit Golf Tournament
2nd Annual Nie Cole Benefit Golf Tournament

Dear Potential Supporter,
The Lion's Club Golf Association is hosting a 2-person scramble tournament on September 29, 2018 to benefit local resident, Nie Cole. Most have heard about Nie' s hunting accident in January 2017 that left him with very limited mobility. Nie has been busy this past year with home therapy and trips to Baltimore for more extensive therapy. Our organization is asking for donations/ sponsorships to support Nie in his ongoing efforts to receive the best therapy available to continue his progress. All proceeds from the tournament will be given to Nie Cole to help cover the costs associated with his care.

Thank you in advance for your support.
Sincerely,
Lion's Club Golf Association

Sep 29 Million Dollar Quartet
On December 4, 1956, an auspicious twist of fate brought together four young musicians – Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley. Sam Phillips, the undisputed “Father of Rock ‘n’ Roll” who was responsible for launching the careers of each of these icons, gathered the four legendary singer/songwriters at the Sun Records studio in Memphis for the first and only time. The result? One of the greatest rock ‘n’ roll jam sessions in history. Million Dollar Quartet brings that unbelievable musical moment to life with an irresistible tale of broken promises, secrets, betrayal, humor, celebration, unforgettable performances of such timeless and enduring hits as “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “That’s All Right,” “Sixteen Tons,” “I Walk the Line,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” “Whole Lotta Shakin’ Goin’ On,” “Hound Dog,” and more. The four music icons of Million Dollar Quartet are portrayed by Daniel Durston as Elvis Presley, Taylor Gray as Jerry Lee Lewis, Austin Hohnke as Carl Perkins, and Peter Oyloe as Johnny Cash. Luke Darnell plays Sam Philips. The cast also features Tiffan Borelli as Dyanne, Bill Morey as Brother Jay (Jay Perkins), and Jon Rossi as Fluke. The show is directed by Susanne Boulle, and features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, with original concept and direction by Floyd Mutrux. The creative team includes Hana Lee Goff (Scenic Design), Lee Alexander Martin (Costume Design), Andrew Morehouse (Lighting Design), Tony Angelini (Sound Design), and Jon Rossi (Musical Direction). Million Dollar Quartet won a Tony® Award for Best Performance by a Featured Actor in a Musical and received two Tony® nominations, one for Best Musical and one for Best Book of a Musical (Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux). The show received an Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical, a Drama Desk nomination for Outstanding Musical Revue, and three Drama League nominations including Distinguished Production of a Musical and Distinguished Performance. Million Dollar Quartet is produced by Team Gershwin, in association with the Barter Theatre. General management is provided by Dhyana Colony/Colony Creative Group.
