Oct 4 Thursday Night Live: Bri Bagwell
Bri Bagwell is real country music, and what country music should strive to be. She is an independent artist without a record deal, and without management. Her popularity is derived 100% by word of mouth and her raw talent. This grass roots effort is rare these days; it speaks to her infectious music and appeal. She fell in love with music at an early age, and started playing in a band with her older brothers while just a teenager growing up in New Mexico. A couple of weeks after turning 18, she moved to Austin, TX to study at UT and begin her music career in the live music capital of the world. Late nights, rowdy Texas crowds, and being alone on stage with just a guitar shaped her onstage charismatic charm. She learned to gain a crowd’s attention with her beautiful voice, singing songs she wrote herself. Her first CD, “Banned from Santa Fe”, released June 2011, sold through several printings, and gained traction very quickly among music fans. Bri Bagwell was the only female artist on the Texas Music Chart for a few weeks with her single, also titled “Banned from Santa Fe" and her song "Whiskey" became her 1st top 15 hit and has passed 70,000 YouTube views on the single's video. In 2013, Bri released her self-titled EP, which featured two brand new radio singles, “Hound Dog” and “Crazy”. Her latest radio release, “Crazy,” has been praised for its witty and relatable lyrics, and it continues to climb the Texas charts. When she’s not on tour, you can find Bri in Nashville, Tennessee, writing songs for Sony/ATV Publishing on Music Row. In the internet age with music coming at you from every type of media, it is harder and harder for artists to get attention. Bri Bagwell is not only gaining attention, but she is also drumming up excitement; and, she does it all without a million-dollar budget.

Oct 6 Saturday Night Live: Big Dam Horns
Member sale begins Sept. 3, 10AM Public sale begin Sept. 5, 10AM Admission is $10 in advance and $15 at the door. “We’re excited to offer a great party band during Homecoming Weekend,” said MAD president Austin Barrow, “and suggest people get their tickets early.” The Big Dam Horns consist of musicians from all around central and southwest Arkansas who met while attending Henderson State University in Arkadelphia. The Big Dam Horns are a modern-day mixture of New Orleans style brass band and alternative rock band playing a wide range of music from the ’60s to today all while adding their own flair. The Big Dam Horns mostly transforms its pop, R&B and hip-hop cover songs into soul-stirring, bopping blasts of horn-infused music, bursting with jazz, soul and blues touches with a rock ’n’ roll bedrock. “We want people to say, ‘Wow, I can’t believe they are playing that, and they are playing it very well,’” said tenor saxophonist Elliott Griffen. “We can play almost whatever we want because we have very talented writers here, and we’re just trying to have some fun and play some good music.” “I think what makes this band unique is there’s really nothing else like it in the area,” said trombone player Brandon Ellis. “There are plenty of good cover bands, plenty of good original bands, but you don’t see horn bands [as cover bands]. Even though we are a cover band, our sound is unique and the way we do our shows is pretty entertaining.”

Oct 11 Rudy Ruettiger: SouthArk Lecture Series
Against all odds on a gridiron in South Bend, Indiana, Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger in twenty seven seconds, carved his name into history books as perhaps the most famous graduate of the University of Notre Dame. The son of an oil refinery worker and third of 14 children, Rudy rose from valleys of discouragement and despair to the pinnacles of success. Today, he is one of the most popular motivational speakers in the United States. It took years of fierce determination to overcome obstacles and criticisms, yet Rudy achieved his first dream - to attend Notre Dame and play football for the Fighting Irish. As fans cheered RU-DY, RU-DY, he sacked the quarterback in the last 27 seconds of the only play in the only game of his college football career. He is the only player in the school's history to be carried off the field on his teammates' shoulders.?

Oct 27 Adam Doleac
Adam Doleac learned the value of building something with his own two hands, from the ground up, before he ever strummed his first chord or wrote his first lyric. His father introduced him to carpentry at age six, and the experience taught Adam it takes discipline to achieve your goals. The work ethic his father instilled in him led Adam to earn high school academic honors and excel at multiple sports. His baseball talent led him to be recruited by the University of Southern Mississippi. While at Southern Miss, Adam won three rings in four years and played in the 2009 College World Series. A man of many talents, Adam was also a skilled drummer, though music wasn’t ever his top priority. Fate intervened during college, when shin stress fractures rendered him unable to pursue a post-college baseball career. By that time, Adam had taught himself guitar and developed his vocal ability. When his baseball career officially ended, Adam started booking shows as a solo artist and writing songs with a teammate. He was diligent about posting his work online, and it quickly garnered the attention of established songwriters in Nashville. After several successful co-writes, Adam made the move to Nashville, and his career quickly gained traction. In 2014, SiriusXM’s The Highway selected “I Put It On Ya” as an On The Horizon track. Shortly thereafter, he was offered a publishing deal with Sony/ATV. To date, Adam’s ability to construct meaningful tunes have earned him cuts from Darius Rucker and Kane Brown. Determined to also position himself as an artist, Doleac released a self-titled debut EP in June 2017. Sirius XM continues to be one of Adam’s most significant supporters. They have played multiple tracks from his EP on The Highway, and Adam was a featured artist on the fall 2017 Highway Finds Tour. Adam has also caught the attention of the streaming world, and several of his songs have earned spots on Spotify-curated country playlists.
