CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees Ticket Sales Commence Oct. 10

Countdown to ticket sales for the 41st annual CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees has been announced by organizers of the traditional, four-day series of holiday events scheduled for Nov. 15-18 at the Statehouse Convention Center in Little Rock.

Online tickets sales for all Festival of Trees events will begin Tuesday, October 10.

With a theme of “’Twas the Nights Before Christmas,” the CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees serves as the umbrella title for a slate of four individual events all centered around seasonal celebrations benefiting CARTI and its statewide network of cancer care facilities.

From the elegantly attired to the whimsically clever, a veritable "forest" of elaborately decorated trees once again serves as the focal point of the festival.  Free general viewing, “Stroll Through the Forest,” is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17.

Official Festival of Trees events include:

● Sugar Plum Ball.  Visions of sugar plums dance not only in the head, but also on the dance floor at this classic daddy-daughter date night where each little princess and the Prince Charming of her choice step into a storybook setting for an evening of dining, dancing, tiaras, party favors and ballet dancers while mixing and mingling with Santa and Mrs. Claus, as well as the newly-crowned Mrs. Arkansas. Ticket sales are limited and typically sell out early.  (6-8:30 p.m., Wed., Nov. 15; tickets, $50 each.)

● Festival After Dark.  Holiday spirits will be merry and bright as the lights go down and the cool and casual meets the hip and happening.  Dress in all black or all white and deck yourself out with on-site body marbling and face painting as you enjoy live entertainment and the tasty treats provided by 17 of Central Arkansas’ most glowing eateries. (7 p.m., Thurs., Nov. 16; tickets, $60.)

● Festival of Fashion.   Enjoy the hustle and excitement of a professional, disco-themed runway show in the grand tradition of New York Fashion Week as you get an up-close look at the colorful clothing and sensational styles of some of Central Arkansas’ most popular boutiques and join us as we honor Pam Cox as the 2017 CARTI Style Icon.  (5 p.m., doors open; 6:30 p.m., show; Fri., Nov. 17, tickets, $50 each.)

● Tux ‘n Trees.   All the splendor of the season comes into view in a celebration of traditional holiday elegance at one of Central Arkansas’ premier holiday events.  Live and silent auctions showcase an evening filled with fine dining and dancing to live entertainment by Dizzy 7 as the CARTI Auxiliary honors longtime CARTI advocate and cancer survivor Dennis Jungmeyer for his work on behalf of the cancer patients of Arkansas.  (6 p.m., Sat., Nov. 18; tickets, $250 each.)

Since its debut in 1977, the CARTI Auxiliary Festival of Trees has evolved from an affair measured in hours into an Arkansas holiday tradition marked by days and has raised more than $7 million for CARTI and the cancer patients of Arkansas.
