SAAC to Host “Pearls and Pastries” Brunch on Oct 15

The South Arkansas Arts Center invites the public to a “Pearls and Pastries Brunch”, sponsored by Murphy-Pitard Jewelry, on Sunday, October 15, from 11:30-1:30pm in the Merkle Gallery.  The lavish brunch with a Southern twist will celebrate the opening of the fall production of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s”, which will begin on October 19 and run from October 21-25.

The scrumptious Southern brunch, hosted by the SAAC fundraising committee, will feature a waffle bar with all the trimmings, including fried chicken, as well as a decadent biscuit bar and mimosa bar.  Also among the brunch offerings will be a sampling of sweet and savory pastries, muffins, meats and quiches, along with everyone’s Southern favorite, cheese grits.

Guests will be invited to view, try on, and purchase tickets to win a 51-inch Freshwater Pearl Rope necklace, which was donated by Murphy-Pitard Jewelers. The hand-selected rope consists of 171 7-7.5mm freshwater cultured pearls of A quality. Each pearl is hand tied to the next with silk thread and tailored precision, and the rope is secured by a 14-karat white-gold filigree clasp. Raffle tickets are $20, and they are also available from SAAC board members, at Murphy-Pitard Jewelers and at the SAAC office. The drawing will be held during the closing performance of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” on October 25.

Amanda and Toddy Pitard of Murphy-Pitard Jewelers will be on hand for the brunch festivities, which will also feature a curated jewelry display and the limited-edition “Holly Golightly Collection” in the Merkle Gallery. After closely watching the film version of “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” for style ideas, Amanda has carefully selected the pieces for the “Holly Golightly Collection,” which are available for purchase during the brunch, as well as at Murphy-Pitard Jewelers. The Pitards will also be providing Holly’s jewelry “look” for the production, and ten percent of all sales at the brunch and from the “Holly Golightly Collection” will be donated to SAAC.

Ticket prices for the “Pearls and Pastries Brunch” are $25 for adults and $10 for children, 12 and under. Children under five will be free.  For more information about the “Pastries and Pearls Brunch” or to purchase tickets, please call the SAAC office at 870-862-5474 or visit the website at www.saac-arts.org.  SAAC is located at 110 East Fifth Street, EL Dorado, Arkansas.
